The
research and development team at Phytoremedies has an incessant aspiration
to create new possibilities of value addition to the formulations of its
customers in the healthcare, nutritional and food industry.
A number of naturally active nutrients, which our body creates for its
maintenance and defense mechanism, get depleted leading to health imbalances
and diseases. Hence the natural health supplements, aims at isolating these
nutrients from the natural sources and are being formulated in various
dosage forms like tablets, soft gel capsules, hard shell capsules, for
supplementation to replenish the depleted nutrient in the human body.
A large number of clinical studies have proved the importance of these
formulations to the human body. Now since a substantial time has passed
after the dosage of these natural ingredients is in use, a new stream of
studies and research is emerging, analyzing the efficacy of a single,
isolated and purified nutrient for the desired results vis-à-vis the
present functioning of a healthy human body in which a large number of
active substances are acting in synergy with each other for overall
effectiveness.
Hence the proactive team of nutritional technicians at Phytoremedies, is
striving to develop ingredients, which will combine the synergistic effects
of multiple nutrients with the aim of creating value addition to the
existing formulations of healthcare, nutritional and food industry.
Our product
'LycoLiv' combines the synergistic health
benefits of two highly effective nutrients, Tomato Lycopene and Glutathione.
Tomato Lycopene: As a major carotenoid in human blood, lycopene protects
against oxidative damage to lipids, proteins and DNA and has comparatively
stronger anti-oxidant properties than other plasma carotenoids. Lycopene has
been found to be potent and specific inhibitor of cancer cell proliferation.
Lycopene may prevent malignant transformation i.e. the transformation of
normal cell into a cancer cell and induces phase II enzymes, which help to
eliminate carcinogens and toxins from the body. Hence Lycopene intake has
been associated with lower incidences of cancers like prostate, breast,
digestive tract and Cardio Vascular Disease.
Glutathione: Glutathione (g-glutamylcysteinylglycine, GSH) is a sulfohydryl
(-SH) antioxidant, antitoxin and enzyme cofactor. Glutathione deficiency
contributes to oxidative stress, which plays key role in aging and
pathogenesis of many diseases like lever disease, alzeimer's disease,
parkinson's disease, seizure, sickle cell anemia etc. GSH is a systemic
anti-toxin and is especially important for those organs most directly
exposed to exogenous toxins such as lungs, intestines, kidneys and
particularly lever. The liver is the organ most involved in detoxifications
of xenobiotics (substances foreign to the body) and the main storage locale
of GSH (actually exporting GSH to the other organs). Hence GSH depletion has
been the most important contributory factor to liver injury and to enhance
morbidity related to lever hypofunction.
Compatibility of Lycopene and Glutathione: Lycopene supplementation
significantly restores Glutathione and malondialdehyde levels and increases
the levels of Glutathione peroxides, Glutathione S-transferase and
Glutathione reductase leading to diminished lipid peroxidation and
enhancement of GSH dependent enzymes in the pouch, liver and erythrocytes.
Glutathione is a highly effective cellular regulator and has a profound
importance in cellular homeostasis. It takes care of intracellular
antioxidant activity and Lycopene has a highly effective extracellular
antioxidant activity. Hence both these nutrients in combination act as a
potent antioxidant for the whole body and are Liver protective, Anti Cancer
and Anti Cytocidal.
LycoLiv is a value added ingredient with easily applicable
and bioavailable forms of Lycopene and Glutathione in combination Vitamin C.
The major function of Vitamin C is to keep Glutathione in its reduced form
to facilitate the combination's free radical quenching effects.
LycoLiv has been made available both, in Oil form and
Microencapsulated Powder form, for the convenience of our customers engaged
in the formulations of softgel, hard shell capsules and tablets.
